"Ashes", written by Mario Candelaria and illustrated by yours truly is finally coming to fruition. I've posted a few pages from the book months ago, during its earliest inception and it's definitely some of my favorite personal work to date. But as you all know, comics are a fickle business- if you're not part of the big picture, you're sitting on the sidelines (and I'm too impatient for sidelines)- with that in mind, we've launched ourselves a Kickstarter campaign to fuel the fires (Firefighting puns for a book about firefighters).
I've been a huge advocate for Kickstarter as a community funding platform- recent success stories like "Sullivan's Sluggers", "Wild Blue Yonder" and Jason Brubaker's incredible "reMind" have been made possible by its expanding community. I won't get too soapbox-worthy with my excitement- but supporting comics through methods like Kickstarter and Indie-A-Go-Go are essential to the industry which is overrun with countless events and relaunches. Supporting the comics YOU want to read, which wouldn't normally get the necessary awareness and expand smaller creators' fanbase.
With that in mind, I'll shamelessly plug my own campaign:

Hell, just take five minutes out of your day to check out some of the other rad comic projects looking to win their way into your collection, there's some serious cool out there.
